Chad Wagenhals

Chad Wagenhals
Chad is the founder and leader of CDW Construction. Chad has degrees in Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) and Economics from MSU Bozeman. After graduation, Chad gained valuable field and office experience working for an industry leading heavy-civil construction firm on large water and wastewater treatment plant projects around the desert southwest. Chad thinks outside the box and his experience designing, planning, and executing projects has developed him into a well-rounded construction industry leader. Chad currently serves as the president of the Billings Home Builders Association. When not in the office or on a jobsite, Chad enjoys putting his mechanic and welding skills to use working on vintage trucks, farm equipment, and his other Facebook Marketplace finds. Chad and his wife Angela have two sons, Caden and Carter, and are very involved in school and athletic commitments.

Robert Germany
Rob and Chad were roommates for two years at MSU Bozeman and the friendship is still going strong today with Rob proudly working at CDW since 2018. Rob has a degree in Construction Engineering from MSU Bozeman. Upon graduation, Rob served for four years in the Air Force including one tour in Afghanistan. Rob gained knowledge and experience working for a commercial design-build firm in Tampa FL, before moving to Billings and working as a construction project manager at a local hospital. Rob understands the importance of developing relationships with clients and subcontractors and the value of effective communication in managing the schedule and budget. Outside of work you will find Rob camping and hiking with his wife and three kids in the summer and skiing or escaping to warmer climates in the winter.
Connor May

Connor May
Connor is a project manager and grew up in and around the construction industry and knows what it takes to deliver successful projects. He is a proud Bobcat with a degree in Construction Engineering. He sharpened his skills working for a local plumbing company helping to develop their estimating software and working in the field gaining experience with quality control and coordination with other trades. Connor managed high-end homes and townhouse projects in Bozeman prior to starting with CDW in 2022. Connor knows that looking at elevations and floorplans on 2-D drawings and visualizing the finished product is challenging, especially for people not involved in construction, so he effectively uses 3-D modeling tools in the planning and construction phases to help bring the plans to life. Connor is an avid outdoorsman and if he is not at work, you will most likely find him on a nearby body of water chasing fish or in a field hunting game. Connor and his wife Grace and their two dogs live in Still River and enjoy working on projects around the house together and spending time with family.

Founder Chad Wagenhals hails from Eastern Montana and leads the team with a strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Economics, paired with hands-on experience managing large-scale construction projects across the Southwest. Chad’s outside-the-box thinking and leadership as President of the Billings Home Builders Association set the tone for our innovative and client-focused approach.
Rob Germany, a Construction Engineering graduate and former United States Air Force Officer, combines his military precision and commercial design-build expertise to ensure every project stays on schedule and on budget, while fostering strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
Connor May, a proud Bobcat with a degree in Construction Engineering, leverages his background in high-end residential construction and his mastery of 3D modeling to bring floorplans to life, ensuring every detail is perfectly executed.

Best in Parade of Homes 2023
The Parade of Homes is an annual event hosted by the Homebuilder’s Association of Billings showcasing the craftsmanship, creativity, and innovation of local builders and designers. To date, hundreds of builders have entered approximately 500 homes to be shown, offering attendees an exclusive look at stunning houses, highlighting the latest trends in architecture and interior design. CDW Construction proudly participated in the event in 2023 with a custom home in Still River Estates, earning the coveted Best in Show award. This recognition reflects CDW’s commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and ability to create beautiful, functional spaces that stand out in Montana’s competitive housing market.

The Love & SONshine Home
CDW Construction is proud to have partnered with local nonprofit, Love and Sonshine Ministries, to create the Sonshine House, a safe and nurturing space for young mothers and their babies. This faith-based home provides a supportive environment where mothers can grow, gain essential life skills, and prepare for independent living while receiving ongoing medical care and access to basic necessities.
Special K Ranch
CDW was honored to partner with Special K Ranch to build a 10,500SF recreation center that will enhance the lives of its residents. Special K Ranch provides family-oriented Christian homes on a working ranch for adults with developmental disabilities. This new facility will serve as a space for connection, physical activity, personal growth, and community events.
